In 2013, Brazil will hold a place of honour during IMD, since the 23rd ICOM General Conference will be held in Rio de Janeiro from 10 to 17 August, 2013.

On this occasion, the IMD theme will be enriched and explored during a number of sessions organised by the various ICOM International Committees. More than 3,000 museum professionals, ICOM members and non-members, will gather to reflect and discuss on the challenges that the museum sector is facing.
